Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information arvesper.com (operated by the A. R. Vesper book studio, "we") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
What we collect
- If you join the newsletter: the email address you submit. It's handled by our email provider, Buttondown, which manages confirmation and unsubscribes.
- Marketing pixel: if you allow it, a TikTok advertising pixel collects standard device and interaction data (e.g., pages viewed, time on page, IP-derived region) to help us measure where readers come from.
- Basic server logs: standard request data kept by our host (Cloudflare) for security and reliability.
We do not ask for your name, and we don't build profiles beyond the marketing measurement above.
How we use it
- To send the newsletter you asked for.
- To understand which channels bring readers to the site, so we don't waste effort.
- To keep the site secure and working.
Sharing — and your "sale/share" rights
We don't sell your information for money. But when the TikTok pixel is active, data is shared with TikTok for advertising measurement. Under California's CPRA and several other U.S. state privacy laws, that counts as "selling" or "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising — so you have the right to opt out of it.
Your choices
- Global Privacy Control (GPC): if your browser sends a GPC signal, we honor it automatically — the pixel will not load. (Most privacy-focused browsers and extensions can enable GPC.)
- "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information": use the link in the site footer to opt out at any time. Your choice is remembered on this device.
- Newsletter: every email includes a one-click unsubscribe.
Your rights (California and other U.S. states)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold, and to opt out of its sale/sharing or use for targeted advertising. To exercise any of these, email privacy@arvesper.com and we'll respond as required by law. We won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Cookies & similar technologies
The marketing pixel (when active) and your opt-out preference use cookies and/or local storage. Blocking them in your browser is always a valid way to opt out.
Children
This site isn't directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top.
